Bloggers Must Write Truthful and Honest Reviews

I came across a great news article, http://www.crn.com/security/218100716;jsessionid=HSPWRNIJK2KNGQSNDLOSKHSCJUNN2JVN stating that the U.S Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has plans this summer to crack down on bloggers who endorse products and write positive reviews, because they are getting paid by that company to write them. This is great, if you have read my post on this blog about how most reviews online are bogus, you can see this would be a great step in actually getting honest, unbiased reviews, which everyone wants. I like the example they use, as in you walk into a store and the sales men there is of course going to try to sell you everything and the most expensive thing, even though they would probably not buy it because that’s there job, that also is the same for those paid bloggers to write reviews on products, they probably would not even write, or purchase the product, but since they get paid money to say it is good, they will do it. But the problem is not only with bloggers, it is also a problem with big site’s that have reputations, they also do the same thing of course. I’m not to sure on how they could crack down on bloggers who do this, since there’s so many blogs on the Internet, and it’s difficult to tell who is saying the truth and who is not, when you are reading the review, until you buy the product, and see its not even close to what they were saying. These rules only apply to the USA, but could soon be applied everywhere if it works, the most annoying blogs I have encountered online, were those get rich scheme blogs, that are everywhere, hopefully those get shut down. Well take a look at that article, even if you are considering to blog or already a person who owns a blog and review products, remember that people read your blog for information, and if you read someone Else’s blog for information and get fooled by it, you wouldn’t feel too good as well, so let’s try to have good reviews and honest reviews online. I would never say something is good if it wasn’t.
