Wireless Security
by porkchop on Jul.16, 2009, under Computer Security
Wireless security is important, the convenience of having the ability of using a laptop anywhere around the house and using multiple desktop computers without having to fish wires through walls and make holes and tripping hazards. I still see wireless security a big problem, doing a local WiFi scan on my PlayStation 3 brings up instantly 5 unsecured wireless networks in the area, or some that are using WEP security which is obsolete.

Should I buy a Laser or Inkjet printer?
by porkchop on Jul.13, 2009, under Internet Topics
This will depend on what you are printing and what your needs are. The nice thing about Laser printers are that they are now very affordable, they use to cost a lot and only large office’s had them. The nicest thing about Laser printers is the Ink lasts a long time, and it’s great for printing text, materials such as lots of Microsoft Office, Excel, and web pages. It does it quickly and does a good job. The nice thing about laser printers is that the ink does not smudge after coming out of the printer, even if its wet, so it’s great for school. I bought a Brother black and white Laser printer for school, since I had to print out a lot of reports and black and white text files, with no need of any color or intensive graphics. I bought it for a fairly good price around $60 and its still printing today, I have not had to replace any ink cartilages and now I rarely use it and its ready for anytime I need any printing.
