Hostgator Review

This is review of the company I use for this web hosting, called Hostgator, the main reason why I am reviewing it, is because of my post everyone should have a website. The great thing about hostgator is that its cheap, reliable, and has a great support team. There live chat on the website is 24/7, meaning that if you ever have encountered a problem with your webpage, you can visit the live support anytime, they are quick to respond, and usually you leave with the problem fixed. They also have forms, which you can ask pre-sale questions before purchasing, or even read user reviews of people who currently have the service. There webservers are pretty quick. There packages are great for shared hosting, which for many people it will be enough, they all contain unlimited bandwidth and webspace, even there lowest package, the only problem I have encountered with this, is that there is no such thing as unlimited, its impossible. They have a limit of inodes, which means files allowed on the webserver, there limit is 50,000, which is a huge amount of files, but could add up easily if you host several Wordpress blogs or forum’s, so that’s something to consider if you are going to host many sites.
The service that I like a lot is there reseller package, I used it for a little while to see how it was, it wasn’t that bad, someone who is dedicated to it, could open up a business reselling hosting/domains, without even knowing you are a reseller, they don’t brand it or anything. It just takes a lot of time and work of course, and you have to offer your own support/customer service for your customers, and also its difficult to get customers for webhosting since there are so many webhosting company’s and the ones that will get the majority of the customer’s will be the big company’s like Hostgator and Godaddy for example. You would also have to compete with there prices, probably leaving you with a very minimal profit, but at the same time, it could be done, just offer a very personalized service it could probably be achieved.
Another thing I like about Hostgator is that they have in there cpanel, which is the control panel for the domain, something called Fantastico, which auto-installs many popular scripts, such as this one Wordpress, and Message board forum’s, with just a few basic things to answer, you get the script installed automatically, no need to second guess how to install script like wordpress, and no need to pay someone to install it. Like I said before, once Wordpress is installed, it is easy. Site studio is another great feature, with premium templates free for people to use, these require the skills of using HTML/Flash though, but if you use an editor like Dreamweaver it’s a lot easier. They have the templates organized by categories, you can make a site for plumbing for example, or a restaurant theme. Another thing worth mentioning is that they offer unlimited email accounts for your domain, for example I have unlimited @porkchopreviews.com email addresses.
So this is a reason why I suggest using Hostgator for your webhosting needs, in the future I may go back to reselling, and will offer a more personalized experience in setting up your site, with me actually helping you personally, setting everything up and making sure you have a great website.
