I believe everyone should have a website, the reason why is because there are tons of people online, and more people are joining the Internet every minute.  When I first started going on the Internet, websites were not easy to build, usually you had to have a good understanding of HTML, which was difficult at the time, but now its real easy to make a website.  There is now software, that can be installed on servers, that will automatically handle all the difficult stuff, for example this site uses Wordpress.  What Wordpress does is it makes everything easy, the only difficult part for people I could see, is installing it, but the configuring part is not difficult at all, for example making this post, is just typing into a text box field and hitting submit with some additional options.  There are also tons of plugins online for Wordpress, that can do anything, and they are very easy to install, just a few clicks.  All the site updates are done through the admin control panel, you rarely have to access the FTP of the site.  Another great site application is Joomla, Joomla can be heavily modified and is usually used by web designers now a days, since it is easy to work with, and it has great content management that is fully customizable for there clients.  The great thing about this is that the web designer Set’s everything up for the client, and then the client can easily make updates to his site without having to hire a constant website designer to update the site.  Most technology ranging from gaming consoles, to cell phones, have a web browser, adding more people to the Internet.

With the current economy it is essential for a business to have a website, the reason why is because they can reach a huge amount of interest worldwide, either it be there products or services they offer. A local store in a town, can only get customers from that town and people visiting it, but when they go on the Internet, with a website selling there items online, they get the massive reach of the whole world.  A personnel website, such as this one, is great as well, you might have a special skill, such as in making food, that people will want to read and find out more information.  Having a website also helps you get a job, creating/managing a website is a great skill for this day in age.  Also if you heard in the media, Employers tend to search people online, especially on facebook, before hiring someone, so if you have a good reputation online, you will most likely land that job.

Owning a website can also generate some spare income, Google has a program, called Google AdSense, which you place ad’s on your website, and make money per each click on those ad’s, it might not be much, but it can add up with time.  Another way to make money off your site, for example, if you like to read book’s and then write about them, then you can become an Amazon affiliate, which basically means that you read xxx book, and review it online, then you can post a direct link to that book and make commission off the sales.

Well these are a few reasons why I believe everyone should have a website, it is a great skill and you never know, you might find that someone is interested in what you have to offer on your site, and also remember that each and every one of us has our own valid opinion that is worth listening to.  Also another thing, mostly everyone has a Facebook/Myspace account, when you create a facebook profile for example, you are making a webpage, a very simple webpage actually, with just your profile and pictures.  The reason why facebook got so popular was because it made it easier for people who could not create a webpage to put themselves on the Internet, the drawback is that you are signing to there terms of service for using it, and that people have to be registered on the site to view your profile.  For example if you made you personnel website not on Facebook, and you did not want anybody to see your information, or say for example your pictures, you could just password protect them and give out the password to friends and family, etc.
